The Danube Chambers of Commerce Association has been founded

Szatmáry Kristóf, the president of the Budapest Chamber of Commerce and Industry did the honours of the house of this event, organized on the 30th of june 2010. The inaugural meeting was opened by Dr. Zsolt Németh, the State Secretary, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Hungary. He spoke about the importance of the regional cooperation and emphasized that initiations like this are coincident with the government’s opinion about the central-european cooperations and its economy policy.

The Danube Chambers of Commerce Association was founded to harmonize the activity of the chambers along the Danube region while abolishing the boundaries, in consideration of the Danube Strategy, attend to the interest of the area’s enterprises.

Nine of the fourteen chambers supporting the foundation attended the meeting. After signing the Statute the founders formulated the mission statement and accepted the short-term of work-plan.

The delegates appointed Szatmáry Kristóf as the president of the Association. The headquarters for now is the Budapest Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
The next assembly will take place in Pécs, European Capital of Culture 2010, on the 10th september 2010 under the Congress of Chambers Founded During the Monarchy.

Expectedly on this meeting new, adherent chambers will sign the Statute and all the delegates are going to accept the strategy and the annual work-plan of the Association.
